What's a "ready-to-print" image? A "ready-to-print" image is one that you have sized to your desired output dimensions and checked over and "retouched". (ie. Checked over for dust, specks, artifacts, etc. and corrected to your own output standards.) What format? .jpg, .tiff, .psd, .eps, .pdf... actually, just about any format that PhotoShop can handle. A quick note regarding .jpg files: If you plan to open and close your .jpg file to work on it in PhotoShop or any other program, it's best to first convert it to .tiff (or .psd) format. Files saved as .jpgs undergo a "lossy" compression each time you work on your file and close it, meaning you actually degrade your image quality slightly upon each file closure. If your paper borders are all equidistant (top, bottom, left, right paper borders will all be the same width) you can simply let me know how much of a paper border you want. If your borders are not all equal, I ask that you position your image as you want it (on a transparent background) with the dimensions of your desired paper size. If you are pushing for a monster-sized print from a relatively small file, I can resize it here, using either Fred Miranda, Genuine Fractals (interpolation programs) or, of course, PhotoShop. This is an automated process, for which there is no charge. If you have file work you'd prefer I do (photo merging, dust/scratch removal, poster design, etc.) I charge $50 an hour and work by a Timex stopwatch. (scrupulously) |
