Hahnemuhle German Etching Has a textured, warm white surface. It has been the choice of many artists wanting reproductions. It's the "softest" (most squishy/cottony) of my papers. So, if you're printing a large print, be aware that it's unforgiving to dings and bends. weight - 310 gsm
thickness - .5 mm
ISO brightness - 90%
opacity - 98%
surface finish - matte

Hahnemuhle Photo Matte 170 A lighter-weight inkjet fine art paper, with a cool white super-smooth surface. It's good for detail. I've never had artists and photographers choose it, because it doesn't look or feel like a fine art paper. Though it's perfect for posters and other temporary applications. weight - 170 gsm
thickness - .21 mm (approx)
ISO brightness - 95%
opacity - 90%
surface finish - very smooth matte

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 188 Smooth bright white rag-based paper. Because of its lighter weight and greater translucency, it doesn't look quite as bright as the PhotoRag 308, even though its official ISO rating is the same.

weight - 188 gsm
thickness - .3 mm
ISO brightness - 90%
opacity - 95%
surface finish - matte

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 Slightly textured, white rag-based paper. Great paper! (both for photographers and artists wanting a stable print on a fine art paper) weight - 308 gsm
thickness - .48 mm
ISO brightness - 90%
opacity - 98%
surface finish - matte

Hahnemuhle William Turner This is a gorgeous paper that gives a "rich" feel to an image. But due to its heavily textured coating (that receives ink so beautifully) it's not a paper that can be handled after it's been printed on. The tips of the coating actually break off.. along with the ink. (something referred to as "picking") But if you've got a print that's going to go immediately under glass, this is a beautiful paper choice.

weight - 310 gsm
thickness - .62 mm
ISO brightness - 87%
opacity - 98%
surface finish - textured matte

Sihl Artist's Canvas
for Framing

A traditionally-textured canvas with a coating that makes it suitable for high-resolution imaging. (a favorite of mine)

*Unless you have a way to U.V. coat the print yourself, I recommend requesting the $20 U.V. coating application.

weight - 409.6 gsm
thickness - 18.8 mil
ISO brightness - 82.6%
opacity - 97%
base material - duck cotton
surface finish - matte

Breathing Color Brilliance Canvas

A canvas with a tighter weave than that of the Sihl. Good for photographic images and fine detail.

*Unless you have a way to U.V. coat the print yourself, I recommend requesting the $20 U.V. coating application.

Epson Somerset Velvet A velvetty-textured, white paper. Nice. Though I find the embedded flaws (little flecks of dirt that get into the paper in the printing process) a little more frequently in this paper than in others. (more flaws/flecks per square foot) weight - 255gsm
thickness - 19 mil
ISO brightness - 96%
opacity - 95%
base material - cotton rag
surface finish - velvet

Epson Smooth Fine Art by Crane The smoothest of the fine art papers that I carry. I keep this paper in stock on rolls, and find that the surface texture is inconsistent enough to make it a bad choice for images with large areas of matte black. The surface texture variations show up even more obviously after matte black ink gets laid onto it. weight - 225 gsm
thickness - 15 mil
ISO brightness - 89%
opacity - 98%
