Archival framing, also known as conservation framing, involves the use of acid-free cotton rag materials (mats, hinging, backing) that will minimize (to as great an extent as possible) deterioration by environmental factors. The use of OP3 acrylic or museum glass filters out approximately 98% of the ultraviolet light that causes images to fade.
